Finding a Job in Reno

Reno’s unemployment rate is 5.1%, well below Nevada’s 7.0%. A few things still help you stand out:

  • Look beyond the casino floor. Hospitals, the university and logistics companies are among the county’s biggest employers, and they all need finance, HR, IT and operations people.
  • Tailor your resume to each role. Lead with results that match the job description, not a list of duties.
  • Do your homework before the interview. Know the organization’s mission, the role’s scope and the questions you want answered. Our career advice library has more.
